Suren Mkrtchyan was born on November 27, 1972 in the City of Yerevan. In 1990 after graduating from secondary high school he was admitted to Yerevan Architectural & Constructional Institute, which he completed in 1996 receiving qualification of an Engineer-Builder. In 1996 he was admitted to Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas in the vocal-theoretical faculty of Professor Svetlanna Kolosaryan’s class, and he graduated from there in 2002. 2002-2003 he graduated from Master's program of the same Conservatory.

Since year 2000 Suren Mkrtchyan is a Soloist at Yerevan National Academic Opera & Balet Theater named after Alexander Spendiarov. Same year he appeared with concerts in England & Germany, USA & Sweden, Greece & Poland, Italia & Korea, Iran & Russia, Austria & Ukraine. With his diverse repertoire Suren Mkrtchyan appeared with Armenian, Russian, European & Western European Composer's most difficult works, such as (Tirit) in Chukhajyan's "Arshak II", (Jose) in Bizet's "Carmen", (Pollion) in Bellini's "Norma", (Mihrdat) in Vivaldi's "Tigran the Great", (Zohrap) in L. Tjegnavorian's "Rustam & Zohrap", (Luiji) in Puccini's "Il Tabarro" (Cape), (Alfredo, Manrico & Ismael) in Verdee's "La Traviata", "Il Trovatore" & "Nabucco" operas, (Monostatos) in Mozart's "Magic Flute", in Mozart's "Requiem", in "Messa of Coronation" , in Dvorak's "Requiem", in Verdee's "Requiem", in Tjegnavorian's "Life of the Christ", in (Lenskiy,Herman & Vodemon) Tchaikovsky's "Eugeny Onegin", "Pique Dam" & "Iolanta", in Rossini's "Messa Sollinele", in Puccini's "Messa Di Gloria", in Beethoven's "9th symphony", in I. Andreveasov's "2nd symphony", etc.

In year 2003 he was awarded "the best performer" title during Sayat-Nova pan-Armenian Competition, which took place in Yerevan. In year 2003 he was awarded the title of Laureate during "April Spring" international competition-festival, which took place in Korea. He promoted concert activities in Yerevan State Philharmonics & Chamber orchestra, as well in Radio & TV State Orchestra. He appeared on the best stages of the world such as "Carnegie Hall" in New York, "St. Johns, Smith Square Hall" in London, "Tchaikovsky Hall" in Moscow, "Meharon Hall" in Tessaloniki, "Tahlare Vahdat Hall" in Tehran, "Minoretten Hall" Vienna , etc. He worked with famous conductors such as Yuri Kolobov, George Pehlevanyan, Facundo Agudin, Edward Serov, Karlos Vieu, Karen Durgaryan, Loris Tjegnavorian, Aram Gharabekyan, Hovhanes Tchekijyan, Eduard Topchyan, Ruben Asatryan, Karen Lavchyan, Harutun Arzumanyan, Alireza Shavachinezad, Ohan Duryan, Megmet Turgumbaev, Dmitro Logvin, Biron Fidetsis, Vincent Matinez Alpuente & many more. He has participated in well-known festivals such as "Mozart Festival", "Oster Klang Festival", "Kiev Summer Festival", etc. He owns numerous recordings performed with Armenian & foreign famous companies.
